Andy Jacobs, Jr., served 15 terms as U.S. Representative for Indiana's 10th District. Prior to heading to Congress, Jacobs studied law while serving as a police officer with the Marion County Sheriff's Department. Jacobs has sponsored a wide range of legislation, from a bill that made Fathers Day a legal holiday to helping to write the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Jacobs term of service occurred while the U.S. was at war in Vietnam, and he led the debate that helped lead to the American pull-out. He served on a variety of committees and subcommittees, including House Ways and Means, Medicare and Social Security. |
