Paula Parker-Sawyers is the Director of Outreach and Partnerships for The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. She is responsible for identifying and securing strategic partnerships that will further the mission of the National Campaign to reduce teen and unplanned pregnancies in the United States.

Mrs. Parker-Sawyers has held positions in both the public and private sector. She most recently was the Executive Director of the Indiana Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. That agency serves multiple roles: Administering the federal AmeriCorps program - a network of service programs and volunteers - and also sending information about grant opportunities to organizations. It also puts nonprofit groups and churches in touch with the agencies that can help them.

Mrs. Parker-Sawyers previously served as the Charitable Contributions Officer and Director of Community Relations at The Associated Group (Anthem, Blue Cross & Blue Shield).

Her additional public sector positions included serving as Deputy Mayor of the City of Indianapolis and being elected to the Indianapolis City-County Council, where she served for eight years. As deputy mayor, her primary focus was working to reduce infant mortality among African-Americans through the Indianapolis Campaign for Healthy Babies.

Paula graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and received her Masters of Public Administration, Non-Profit Management concentration, also from IU. She is the mother of three adult children.
